The province of Noord-Brabant faces a double challenge. On one hand, the profile of the province has to be strengthened by establishing a clear agenda in order to take position in Europe. As regions and their cities play an increasingly important role, the province has to be clear about its identity, its role and its agenda.

On the other hand, the province has to create space for and give direction to the necessairy cuts. It needs to focus on key tasks and a select number of provincial core tasks. Based on this agenda and profile, the province has to review which tasks should be reduced or slimmed down. The cuts do not stand alone. They should serve the strenghtening of the provincial profile. This also gives an indication of challenges that deserve more investment.
The agenda was organized and visualized by a diagram showing how global trends result in local challenges, which enabled the province to choose its priorities. The qualities that support the profile of the province are elaborated with maps and collages.
